South Africa waltz to innings win in opening WI Test


    South Africa have won the opening Test against West Indies in St Lucia by an innings and 63 runs, inside three days.

    West Indies’ batsmen were again routed by the Proteas’ fast bowling attack on Day Three after being bowled out for 97 in the first innings.

    South Africa made 322 on the back of Quinton de Kock’s 141 not out to give them a healthy first innings lead.

    T&T’s debutant Jayden Seales took three wickets while Jason Holder led the way with four.

    West Indies would be bowled out for a second time – this time for 162.

    Kagiso Rabada took 5 wickets for 34 runs while Anrich Nortje grabbed three to add to the four wickets he took in the first innings.

    Roston Chase’s 62 was the lone standout in the West Indies’ second innings.
