Argentine Sergio Aguero has agreed to join La Liga’s FC Barcelona from July 1st 2021, when his contract with Manchester City expires.
The move, which will see Aguero partner with his Argentina national teammate Lionel Messi, runs until the end of the 2022/23 season.
FC Barcelona, confirming the deal on its website, says his buy out clause is set at 100 million euros.
This is also a return to La Liga for the almost-33-year-old striker who played for Atletico Madrid before moving to City.
He leaves the Premier League as City’s all-time top scorer with 260 goals in 390 games and the foreign player with the most goals in the League.
