Kemar Roach hit his 8th highest Test score to guide West Indies to a thrilling one-wicket win in the first match against Pakistan.
West Indies were set 168 to win after bowling out the visitors for 203 in the second innings.
However, the top order was rocked by Shaheen Shah Afridi who left West Indies at 16/3.
Roston Chase (22) and Jermaine Blackwood (55) mounted a comeback before some more wickets saw West Indies reeling at 151/9, still 17 runs shy of victory.
Roach came to the rescue though, hitting the winning runs to end on 30 not out – only the eighth time in his 66 match career that the fast bowler scored 30+.
The Barbadian also has a good game with the ball, taking 2/47 and 3/30.
However, the star with the ball was T&T’s Jayden Seales who took 3/70 and 5/55.
West Indies have now picked up a valuable 12 points towards the 2021-2023 World Test Championship and also have an unassailable 1-0 lead in the two game series.
