Former West Indies cricketer Ramnaresh Sarwan has been appointed to the West Indies Men’s Senior and Youth Selection Panels until June 30th, 2024.

His appointment comes a day after the announcement that another former West Indies cricketer, Dr Desmond Haynes, has taken over as new Lead Selector.

Cricket West Indies says Sarwan will now be stepping down from his current role as Chairman of the Guyana Cricket Board’s Senior Selection Panel to focus on this role and avoid any conflict of interest.

Sarwan played 81 Tests, 181 ODIs and 18 T20Is for West Indies between 2000 and 2013.

He scored 5842 runs in Tests and 5804 runs in ODIs and was a member of the team which won the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy in 2004.
