Pollard and Pooran selected for “The Hundred” in the UK

    T&T cricketers, Kieron Pollard and Nicholas Pooran, have been signed by the Welsh Fire and Manchester Originals for the 2021 “The Hundred” tournament in the UK.

    The teams are allowed three overseas players and Pollard is joined by Australia’s Jhye Richardson and Afghanistan’s Qais Ahmad.

    Pooran is alongside South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada and Pakistan’s Shadab Khan as the forei3gners in Manchester.

    Other players from the West Indies to be involved in the men’s and women’s tournament are Deandra Dottin (London Spirit), Sunil Narine (Oval Invincibles), Andre Russell (Southern Braves) and Stafanie Taylor (Southern Braves).

    The overseas slots on the men’s teams have all be taken but there are some spaces available on the women’s teams.

    The Hundred is a 100-ball-a-side tournament set to be played in England with eight city-based teams.

    During the game, bowlers can deliver either five or 10 consecutive balls and the fielding side will change ends after 10 deliveries.

    Each bowler can bowl a maximum of 20 balls per game.

    A game is expected to last about two and a half hours.
