T&T’s membership rights in FIFA have been reinstated in time for this country to compete in the 2021 Gold Cup and 2022 World Cup Qualifiers, according to a release from the Normalization Committee.
A media release was sent this afternoon by Amiel Mohammed, the assistant to the committee’s chairperson, Robert Hadad.
It says the T&T Football Association’s suspension, due to what FIFA called grave violations of its statutes, has been lifted.
However, the committee, put in place by FIFA, says much work will have to be done to ensure that T&T’s return to competitive action, in all age categories, is sustainable.
It claims to have held dialogue with players and coaches over the past months and is confident of putting the country’s football where it needs to be off field.
