New Zealand A in front in opening warm-up against West Indies

    The West Indies are on the back foot in their first match on the tour of New Zealand, a warm-up against New Zealand A at Queenstown.

    The hosts made 308/3 declared on the opening day of the three-day game with 21-year-old Kiwi batsman Rachin Ravindra making 112.

    Henry Nicholls made 76 while Devon Conway and Joe Carter made got into the 40s before declaration.

    Alzarri Joseph, Chemar Holder and Raymon Reifer took the wickets for the regional team.

    In the eight overs West Indies got to bat in the closing stages of Day One, they lost the wicket of John Campbell for four while Kraigg Brathwaite and Darren Bravo held on.

    West Indies closed the day on 17/1 after eight overs.

    The two teams will play two warm-up games before the start of the international fixtures on the tour.
