Sunil Narine starred with bat and ball as Trinbago Knight Riders won the opening match of the 2020 Caribbean Premier League against Guyana Amazon Warriors.
Narine was phenomenal as TKR bowled first after a long rain delay at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba.
His 2/19 in four overs was the standout performance as Guyana made 144/5 in a rain-reduced 17 overs on the back of Shimron Hetmyer’s 63.
However, Narine was not done there.
He piled on 50 from 28 balls as TKR recovered from a slow start to their chase.
The final over by Naveen Ul Haq cost the wicket of Darren Bravo but the home team eventually got to a 4-wicket victory with DJ Bravo sealing the win with a boundary.
The next match of the tournament takes place today at 5:30PM between Barbados Tridents and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.
