Namibia qualify for T20 World Cup Super 12 round

    Namibia have pulled off an upset by beating Test nation Ireland by eight wickets to qualify for the Super 12 round of the 2021 T20 World Cup.

    They successfully chased 126 in a low scoring affair to knock the Irish out of the tournament.

    Batting first, Ireland collapsed from 101/3 to 125/8 in 20 overs as David Wiese took 2/22.

    Then, Namibia, led by 53 not out from captain Gerhard Erasmus, got to 126/2 in 18.3 overs.

    Player of the Match, Wiese, also made 28 not out from 14 balls.

    Sri Lanka have also already qualified for the next round and look set to finish top the Group with three wins from three matches.

    They bowled out Netherlands for 44 around 11am today in the dead-rubber final match of the First Round.
