Munro stars with 96* in record breaking TKR win

On a record breaking night, Trinbago Knight Riders pulled off victory over Jamaica Tallawahs to go 4 wins from 4 games in CPL19.

TKR, led by Colin Munro’s 96 not out, Lendl Simmons’ 86 and 45 not out by skipper Kieron Pollard to post 267/2.

That score is the highest CPL score, highest T20 score a Sabina Park, highest score in the history of the TKR franchise and the 3rd highest T20 score of all time.

Jamaica didn’t go down without a fight though.

Glenn Phillips led the way with 62 from 32 and handy starts by several batsmen.

But they lost wickets regularly and eventually fell short by 41 runs.

Mohammad Hasnain took 2/50 and there was a wicket each for Sunil Narine, Jimmy Neesham and Pollard.

Munro was named Man of the Match.

493 runs were scored on the night – the 2nd highest T20 aggregate ever.

TKR are back on top of the table with maximum points from 4 games while Tallawahs are without a win.
