Former West Indies fast bowler Michael Holding has been named the Sports Journalists Association’s Sport Pundit of the Year for 2020.
Holding, who is currently attached to Sky Sports in the UK, won the award ahead of former footballer Micah Richards and England’s World Cup winning cricketer Ebony Rainford-Brent.
The award was decided by a vote of the association’s members.
SJA, in a tweet said, Holding had “probably the most moving and compelling set of interviews on race and racism, in a year when the Black Lives Matter movement showed why education is so important.”
Holding played 60 Tests and 102 ODIs for West Indies between 1975 and 1987, taking 249 red ball wickets and 142 wickets in the one-day format.
