Lewis hits 77* as Patriots march into CPL final to face Kings

    St Kitts and Nevis Patriots will meet St Lucia Kings in the final of the 2021 CPL after the home team beat Guyana Amazon Warriors by seven wickets.

    The Dwayne Bravo-led Patriots won the toss in the second semifinal and sent Guyana in to bat – they made 178/9 in 20 overs on the back of 45 from Shimron Hetmyer.

    Jon-Russ Jaggesar, Dominic Drakes, Naseem Shah and Fawad Ahmed all took two wickets.

    Then, Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis had a 76-run opening partnership for the Patriots before Lewis and Bravo combined to add another 88 runs.

    Lewis would hit the winning runs to end on 77 not out as Patriots got to 181/3 in just 17.5 overs.

    Lewis was named Player of the Match and is now the top scorer for this year’s tournament with 420 runs in 10 innings.

    Tomorrow’s final between St Kitts and St Lucia bowls off at 10am.
