Sunil Narine’s all-round cricketing abilities are not that far off from the likes of Andre Russell, according to the Kolkata Knight Riders CEO.

Mr Venky Mysore was speaking on YouTube vlog, “The RK Show” on his expectations ahead of IPL 2020 where both Narine and Russell are carded to feature for KKR.

He said, “A lot of people keep thinking of Andre Russell as the best all-rounder, which he is”, admitting that he’s seen as the Michael Jordan of T20 cricket.

However, Mr Mysore noted, “At the same time, you look at Sunil Narine’s stats, a lot of people may be pleasantly surprised as to how – he’s not that far behind in terms of his all-round capabilities and how he has contributed to KKR with the bat. We know what he does with the ball.”

Narine’s batting prowess has grown in recent years in 20-over format of the gentleman’s game to where he now has eight half-centuries.

Two of those have come in the ongoing 2020 CPL tournament – 50 against Guyana Amazon Warriors on August 18th and 53 against Jamaica Tallawahs on August 20th.

He remains a force to reckon with as a bowler having picked up 383 wickets in 339 matches.
