Brandon King made an unbeaten 83 from 50 balls as Jamaica Tallawahs waltzed to their third CPL title with victory over Barbados Royals.
Royals, pegged by some as tournament favourites after a stellar group stage, batted first after winning the toss in Providence, Guyana.
They made 161/7 with 51 from 40 balls coming from Azam Khan while Fabian Allen took 3/24 in four overs as the Tallawahs fought back.
Nicholson Gordon, in the Jamaica XI in place of an injured Mohammad Amir, also did well with 3/33 in four overs.
Then, despite the loss of Kennar Lewis in the first over of the chase, Tallawahs made light work of their target, getting to 162/2 in just 16.1 overs.
King’s unbeaten 83 included 13 fours and two sixes.
Shamarh Brooks also played a fine innings falling just short of a half century (47).
Tallawahs have now added the 2022 CPL crown to their titles in 2013 and 2016.
