A Sunrisers Hyderabad player has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a media release, the Indian Premier League says T Natarajan has isolated himself after a scheduled RT-PCR test and is asymptomatic.
Six close contacts of the player have been identified and were isolated, including player Vijay Shankar.
However, the IPL says the rest of the team, including the close contacts underwent testing and have returned negative.
As such, it says today’s game between Sunrisers and Delhi Capitals will go ahead as scheduled at 10am T&T time.
The tournament resumed on September 19th after being stopped in May this year after multiple COVID-19 cases across franchises.
