After his Player of the Series performance in the T20I series, leg spinner Hayden Walsh Jr has been called up to the ODI team to face Australia.
Cricket West Indies says he replaces all-rounder Roston Chase, who has not recovered in time from a left thigh injury picked up in the South Africa Test Series.
Chase will therefore not be available to participate in this series.
Walsh Jr took 12 wickets at average of 11.66 and economy rate of 7.00 per over in the T20I series which West Indies won 4-1.
He is also directly into the playing XI for today’s first ODI bowling off at 2:30pm.
The ODI Series will be played at Kensington Oval in Barbados today as well as Thursday, July 22 and Saturday, July 24.
The series forms part of the ICC ODI Super League where both teams are aiming to win points to be one of the top seven teams that will secure automatic qualification for the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup in India.
