Gayle avoids CPL sanction for Sarwan tirade

    Chris Gayle has reportedly avoided a CPL sanction for his public criticism of Ramnaresh Sarwan and other Jamaica Tallawahs personnel.

    On April 27th, Gayle accused Tallawahs assistant coach Sarwan of being behind his (Gayle’s) departure from the Jamaican franchise.

    While he continues to stand by his criticism of Sarwan, Gayle has since issued an apology for the tirade itself, saying he now realizes “how portions of my comments may be viewed as being damaging to Cricket West Indies, and to the CPL Tournament and its brand.” 

    Following this, the CPL Tournament Committee (CTC) has issued a statement saying it is satisfied with the statement and now considers the matter closed:
