A memorandum of understanding has been signed between CARICOM and FIFA to help further develop regional football.
The MoU focuses on several areas, but particularly the implementation of a football programme in the physical education curricula in primary schools.
FIFA says it will provide support for the development of football training, competitions and the training of coaches, officials, administrators and teachers.
Other areas of focus of the MoU include measures for the protection of children and vulnerable adults in football, the fight against match manipulation and the promotion of sports integrity.
Responding to the agreement, T&T legend and current Barbados Head Coach, Russell Latapy, says he appreciates FIFA’s efforts to invest in football development.
