An all-round Andre Russell has fired the Dhaka Dynamites in the final of the Bangladesh Premier League.
Russell took two wickets as the Rangpur Riders were bowled out for 142 – Rubel Hossain grabbed four wickets.
Sunil Narine, while going wicketless, proved as economical as ever, conceding just 18 runs in four overs.
Narine smacked 14 from 8 with the bat but Dhaka’s chase started poorly – the Trinbagonian and Upul Tharanga were both back in the dugout after 4 overs with just 41 runs on the board.
Russell was brought back into the spotlight after 11 overs with the score at 97/5 – Dhaka needed 46 runs in 54 balls.
The Jamaican made easy work of the task at hand – he hit 6 sixes in a 19-ball unbeaten 40 as the Dynamites got home in 16.4 overs.
Dhaka will meet the Comilla Victorians in the BPL final on Friday morning at 8 o’clock.
