England have broken their own record for the most runs in an ODI innings by smashing 498/4 against Netherlands.

Jos Buttler led the way with 162 not out from 70 balls, while their were hundreds from Phil Salt (122) and Dawid Malan (125), and 66 not out from 22 balls by Liam Livingstone.

There were 26 sixes and 36 fours in the innings.

Young bowler Philippe Boissevain had the unfortunate experience of conceding the fourth-most runs in 10 overs in an ODI, leaking 108 runs.

Netherlands were bowled out for 266 – 232 runs short.

England’s total of 498/4 obliterates their previous records of 481/6 and 444/3, and means that they now have the three highest team totals in ODI cricket.

The top five is rounded off by Sri Lanka and South Africa with 443/9 and 439/2.
