Dean Elgar has guided South Africa to a series-levelling 7-wicket win over India in their second Test.

Set 240 to win, the hosts dug deep at Johannesburg with Elgar leading the charge with 96 not out from 188 balls.

He received good support from Rassie van der Dussen’s 40, Aiden Markram’s 31 Keegan Petersen’s 28 and 23 not out from Temba Bavuma.

South Africa got to victory with 243/3 on the board and have secured 12 points towards the World Test Championship.

This result also squares up the series and sets up a grand finale with the third Test in Cape Town from January 11th.
