Namibia, powered by the all-round efforts of David Wiese, have secured their first ever win at a World Cup by beating Netherlands by six wickets.

In their First Round, Group A match, Netherlands batted first and made 164/4 in 20 overs as Wiese, a former Guyana Amazon Warriors player, took 1/32.

But Wiese’s best was still to come – in Namibia’s chase, he smashed 66 not out from 40 balls they reached 166/4 in 19 overs.

Not only was this their first win at a World Cup but also their highest chase in a T20I.

It keeps their hopes of reaching the World Cup’s Super 12 stage alive and makes progress for Netherlands very difficult.
