CPL: Guyana ease to win over St. Kitts and Nevis

Shimron Hetmyer and Shadab Khan were the stars for Guyana Amazon Warriors as they wrapped up their second win of CPL 2019, with a 8-wicket win over the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots at home on Saturday night.

St. Kitts and Nevis were in to bat first, as Devon Thomas led the way with 62 runs followed by a brisk 33 from Fabian Allen, as the star batsmen including Evin Lewis failed.

Khan took 2/20 and Ben Laughlin took 2/43 to help wrap things up.

Guyana’s chase was simple, despite the loss of Brandon King (29) and Chanderpaul Hemarj (39), Hetmeyer scored 70 not out off 47 balls, assisted with 23 runs from Shoaib Malik.

They chased victory with 7 balls to spare.

It was the second successive defeat for the Patriots, having lost to the Trinbago Knight Riders in the opening match last Wednesday.

On Sunday, the TKR will play the St. Lucia Zouks at the Queens Park Oval.
