Barbados Royals are into the final of the 2022 CPL after an 87-run win over Guyana Amazon Warriors in Qualifier 1 today.
Batting first, Royals were powered by Rahkeem Cornwall who made 91 from 54 balls, inclusive of 11 sixes and two fours.
Azam Khan added a neat 35-ball 52 in the middle order as Barbados ended on 195/5 in 20 overs.
Presented with a steep chase, Guyana lost four wickets in the powerplay, before being bowled out for 108 in 17.4 overs.
Ramon Simmonds led the bowling attack with 3/17 in three overs, Cornwall and Mujeeb Ur Rahman took two each and there was one apiece for Kyle Mayers, Hayden Walsh and Jason Holder.
Amazon Warriors have one more chance to make it to the final, playing the winner of tonight’s Eliminator between Jamaica Tallawahs and St Lucia Kings, in tomorrow’s second qualifier.
