West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite will play for the Birmingham Bears in the 2021 Vitality Blast T20 in England.
“Ricky”, as he’s fondly called, is currently playing for the Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League.
Bears’ Director of Cricket Paul Farbrace remembers Brathwaite for his four successive sixes that helped West Indies beat England to secure the T20 World Cup in 2016.
Farbrace was part of England’s coaching team at the time.
Brathwaite is excited about joining the Edgbaston-based team, saying he hopes the team can push on further this year after reaching the quarterfinals in 2020.
The Vitality Blast begins on Wednesday 9th June 2021 with the Lancashire Lightning versus Derbyshire Falcons at Old Trafford.
