The West Indies batting unit has been working hard, according to Test vice-captain Jermaine Blackwood, who believes glimpses of improvement were seen in the one-wicket win over Pakistan.
In their first innings of the game, the hosts were able to post 253 with Kraigg Brathwaite hitting 97 and Jason Holder making 58.
Combined, they faced 329 balls as West Indies batted for 89.4 overs – the lengthiest innings of the game.
Blackwood says this longevity at the crease would make the difference in the second Test, starting on Friday.
The second Test wraps up the series giving West Indies a chance at a clean sweep and important points for the 2021-2023 World Test Championship.
West Indies sit at second in the table with 12 points from one game.
