Australia v India 3rd Test: Rohit returns, Saini set for debut

    Rohit Sharma will play his first Test since November 2019 and first match for India in almost a year, while young Navdeep Saini will make his Test debut in the third match against Australia at the SGC.

    The BCCI today announced the playing XI for third game of the four-match series which is tied 1-1 after India won the opener in Melbourne and Australia bounced back in Adelaide.

    Among the changes is the addition of Sharma who last played in all-white for India against Bangladesh in November 2019.

    The ‘Hitman’ has faced the Aussies in five Tests during which he scored 279 runs at an average of 47.61 and includes two half centuries.

    Meanwhile, young fast bowler, Saini, will make his debut in whites for India after having played seven ODIs for his country.

    In domestic red-ball cricket, he’s taken 128 wickets in 46 games at an average of 28.46.
