Lucknow Super Giants have crashed out of the 2023 IPL after being bowled out for 101 in their Eliminator against Mumbai Indians.
Mumbai batted first and made 182/8 with a top score of 41 from 23 balls by Australia’s Cameron Green.
Naveen-ul-Haq led the LSG bowling with 4/38 in four overs, while Yash Thakur grabbed 3/34.
However, luck was not in the Super Giants’ favour when they came to the crease – except for Marcus Stoinis’ 40 from 27 balls, Lucknow’s batters struggled.
The damage was spearheaded by pacer Akash Madhwal who took remarkable figures of 5/5 in 3.3 overs – the fifth-best bowling returns in IPL history.
Mumbai now face defending champions Gujarat Titans on Friday morning to decide who will take on Chennai Super Kings in Sundays’ final.
