The 8th edition of UWI-UNICOM’s Club T20 competition takes place in January 2020.
Committee Chair Professor Trevor Alleyne says it will feature 12 teams including some from overseas, and will be held from January 9th to the 26th.
The tournament starts with an initial group stage followed by a knock-out format, with the entire competition to be completed in nine days.
All matches will be played at the Sir Frank Worrell Ground, UWI, SPEC and water, balls, umpires and scorers will be provided.
For the group stage, Professor Alleyne says lunch will be provided but other than that, teams will have to bring their own refreshments.
He says white balls will be used and matches are to be played in coloured uniforms – teams are required to provide their own uniforms.
The first prize will be a minimum of $40,000 and a trophy while the second prize is a minimum of $15,000 and a trophy.
The two losing semi-finalists will receive a minimum of $4000 each.
The man of the series will get $2,500 and a trophy and prizes will also be given for ’big’ sixes, good bowling and each man-of-the-match.
The Registration Fee is $3,000 per club.
