The remaining matches of the 2021 Indian Premier League will be played in the United Arab Emirates in September and October.
This has been announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in a media advisory.
The tournament was suspended on May 4th with 31 games still to be played after several players tested positive for COVID-19.
BCCI says the move to the UAE has been made considering the monsoon season in India in September and October.
The decision was unanimously taken at a special meeting where it also authorised the “Office Bearers” to seek an extension of time from the ICC to take an appropriate call on hosting the upcoming T20 World Cup.
That tournament is scheduled for October and November in India.
