The Met Office has issued a Yellow-Level Adverse Weather alert which spans for most of the weekend, as a tropical wave passes.
According to its public warning system, the alert will be in effect from 5am on Saturday to 6pm on Sunday.
The forecast is for the most impactful weather to affect mainly Tobago and northern parts of Trinidad.
The Met Office says there is the possibility of street and flash flooding, as well as landslips and landslides.
Rainfall accumulation can exceed 25mm and winds can become gusty in heavy showers and thunderstorms.
