UPDATE: PTSC says its service to Guayaguayare will resume on Monday 4th January 2021.
This, it says, comes after an assessment of the deteriorating roads by the Works Ministry and the commencement of temporary works.
INITIAL STORY: To temporarily deal with slipping roads at Robert Village, Tableland, the Works Ministry has begun to widen the opposite side of the road.
This is according to a media release from the Ministry which follows concerns and criticism after PTSC discontinued its bus service to Mayaro and Guayaguayare due to the road’s condition.
It says the temporary work being undertaken will allow continued access and reduce traffic.
The Ministry says permanent slope stabilization and road restoration are expected to begin in January 2021.
