Works Minister responds to criticism over Macoya speed bumps

The Works Minister will speak to his engineers and the maxi taxi association, after the installation of speed bumps at the Macoya Intersection.

The strips of asphalt, on the eastbound and westbound lanes approaching the traffic lights on the Priority Bus Route, were placed after several accidents in the area.

However, while some persons are in support of the venture, others have expressed concern that drivers may be at further danger.

Speaking to 103.1FM News today, Minister Rohan Sinanan said maxi drivers have already been taking the wrong approach by driving on the wrong lane to avoid the bumps.

Mr Sinanan said he will be reaching out to the maxi taxi association.
