A 26 year old nutritionist from East Trinidad has been granted $100,000 bail after appearing in court, charged with sexual penetration against a male child.
The offence is alleged to have occurred at the Cascadia Hotel, St. Ann’s, on Wednesday 18th July, 2018, against the 14-year-old boy
A report was made by the victim’s mother to the Child Protection Unit in Port of Spain on September 22nd, which led to the arrest of Shaneeza Muntaz.
Muntaz appeared before Magistrate Adia Mohammed on Monday and the matter has been adjourned to December 13th, 2018.
The charges were laid in accordance with the Children Act 2012 Chapter 46:01, which states, “penetration of a child” includes— (a) the insertion of any body part or any object into a child’s bodily orifice; or (b) the insertion of a part of a child’s body into a person’s bodily orifice.”
