Woman charged after throwing boiling water on teen daughter

A 36-year-old woman has been granted bail, after allegedly throwing boiling water on her teenage daughter.

In September, the 17-year-old girl reported to police that she had sustained injuries to her upper right arm and right breast following an argument with her mother.

The victim said the woman then went into the kitchen, took up a kettle with boiling water and threw it on her.

The woman was charged with one count of cruelty to a child and was granted $30,000 bail when she appeared before a Justice of the Peace on November 20th.

The matter will come up for hearing before a Port-of-Spain Magistrate on December 22nd.
