Watson Duke claims sedition charge was fuelled by Tobago politics

Watson Duke, leader of the Progressive Democratic Patriots, believes his recent detention for sedition has to do with politics in Tobago.

Today, he spoke for the first time since appearing in court and being granted $250,000 bail.

Mr Duke announced he will be leaving the PSA on November 30th to focus on the PDP, which polls suggest, has wide support ahead of upcoming local government and general elections.

Mr Duke says more information on the PDP’s campaign, for both Trinidad and Tobago, will be revealed at a launch on October 7th 2019.

Meanwhile, the PSA President weighed in on the police’s treatment of him during his detention.
