Water supply disruption from today due to emergency shutdown of Pt Lisas Desal Plant


    Several communities in Central and Southwest Trinidad will have their pipe borne water disrupted due to an emergency shutdown of the Point Lisas Desalination Plant.

    In a media release, WASA says a 42-inch raw water pipeline has to be repaired and the plant, owned by DESALCOTT, will slow down throughout the day and halt production by 6pm.

    No timeframe has been given for the completion of the works.

    Affected areas include:
    Central – Caroni, Warrenville, Cunupia, Chaguanas, Caparo, Chase Village, Couva, Pt Lisas, California, Claxton Bay, Plaisance Park, Pointe a Pierre, City of San Fernando, Vistabella, Marabella, Gasparillo

    Southwest – Union Hall, Pleasantville, Palmiste, Phillipine, Duncan Village, Esperance, Gulf View, Bel Air, La Romain, South Oropouche, Otaheite, Rousillac, Aripero, parts of La Brea, Avocat, Fyzabad, parts of Siparia including De Gannes Village and Quarry Village, San Francique, Debe, Syne Village, Lowkie Trace, Sunrees Road, Mora Dam Road.
