Water sub-committee urged to look at rural communities

Mayaro MP Rushton Paray is calling on the Cabinet sub-committee on the water sector to give urgent priority to rural communities.

In a release, he says recent dry spells have made supply issues even more critical and pressing in Mayaro and other countryside communities.

Mr Paray believes the Committee should give priority to fixing pipeline leaks in these districts and to ensure a more equitable distribution.

He also wants the team to acknowledge that while creating a master water plan, many nationals are being starved of a supply for their daily needs.

As such, he says they must begin to introduce remedies to the dreadful water woes being faced by nationals, especially those in badly-affected rural communities.
