Water disruption in parts of South Trinidad

Several communities in South Trinidad are currently without water, due to a ruptured 400 millimetre raw water pipeline in the Point Coco area.

According to WASA, repair works are currently underway and these are expected to be completed by 6pm today.

Persons served by the Chatham Water Treatment Plant are being affected, including those in Pt Coco, Chatham, Los Bajos, Rancho Quemado, Sheila Lamorell Gardens, Palo Seco and surrounding areas.

WASA says upon the completion of repairs, it may take up to 24 hours for the scheduled pipe borne supply to be normalized to some areas.
