Water and traffic disruptions in Cocoyea and environs due to ruptured main

A ruptured 27 inch main along the Naparima Mayaro Road is disrupting water supplies to residents in Cocoyea and environs.

However, WASA says emergency repairs are underway and should be completed by 9am today.

The areas affected include Cocoyea Village, Corinth Road and Retrench Village.

WASA says it may take up to 6 hours for the scheduled pipe borne water supply to normalize after repairs are completed.

The location of the works is at LP 81-82 Naparima Mayaro Road, St Clements, in the vicinity of the overpass on the Solomon Hochoy Highway Extension.

As such, the authority is advising motorists and the general public to proceed with caution and follow instructions from traffic control officers.

Drivers can also use alternative routes where possible.
