Dramatic footage has been released of drug smugglers frantically tossing blocks of cocaine overboard, as they were pursued in the Pacific by the US Coast Guard.
The footage was tweeted by Admiral Karl Schultz, the 26th Commandant of the US Coast Guard.
The bust was reportedly made on July 18th.
Cocaine profits are used to fund opioid trafficking. @uscg members seized $350M of cocaine, which prevents cartels from financing the opioid epidemic, killing Americans, & destabilizing our Border. We combat cartels where they are most vulnerable – at sea. https://t.co/PL0CiXPIlz pic.twitter.com/6BLsZr0TOK
