Grenadian Police have confirmed that there is one fatality after a bus plunged into the sea early this morning.
The driver of the bus reportedly lost control of the vehicle, crossed the culvert and ended up in the sea.
Reports indicate that passengers were rushed to Hospital while Coast Guard officers tried to salvage items from the submerged vehicle.
Three fishermen, who initially assisted in rescue efforts, are being hailed as heroes.
According to Now Grenada News, the bus had a total of 15 passengers including a baby who was among the first to be rescued.
Police held a news briefing at the scene of the accident and said that the white passenger bus, registration HAP 148 operates the #2 route.
The fishermen who were on their fishing boats in the vicinity immediately sprang into action, after realizing that the bus had plunged into the sea.
