WASA: steps being taken to prepare for bad weather

WASA says it is taking all the necessary steps to prepare for bad weather.

A Yellow Level Adverse Weather Alert is in effect and the Authority says despite the steps taken, heavy rains and winds may affect operations at several of its water treatment facilities.

This could be due to a combination of factors such as turbid river conditions, clogged intakes, and power failures.

As such, it says persons should maintain/establish a system of storage and manage their water use efficiently by reducing consumption.

It adds that this can be done by eliminating wasteful practices, repairing leaks and overflowing water tanks at home and in businesses.
