An individual wearing a WASA uniform who was apparently arrested for shoplifting is not a legitimate employee, according to the company.
In a media release, it says it is now investigating how the person came to be in possession of the uniform.
Furthermore, it assures that it is planning an update of uniforms and will inform the public when the changes come into effect.
Meanwhile, WASA says an individual seen in social media messages seeking access to properties in North West Trinidad is a legitimate employee.
The company says the employee is a travelling field officer who was carrying out duties while wearing his uniform and WASA ID card.
It notes that all field officers can be identified by the card which must be presented before any form of access is granted.
