WASA addresses reports of discoloured pipe borne water

Persons who have been getting discoloured pipe borne water are being advised that WASA is conducting a flushing exercise following a power trip at the Navet Water Treatment Plant.

In a media release, the company says the trip led to low clearwell levels at the facility and resulted in low water pressures or, in some cases, no water across parts of Southeast Trinidad.

WASA says the flushing exercise and the restart of the plant should be completed by 4pm today.

It notes that persons receiving discoloured water in their pipes should let their taps run until the water clears up.
