Visitor at Port of Spain prison arrested for ‘plant-like’ substance


    A visitor to the Port of Spain Prison has been arrested after he was found with a ‘plant-like’ substance.

    Around 10:30am today, the T&T Prison Service says a male visitor was allowed entry at the establishment and a mandatory search was carried out on his person.

    During the search, officers found three packets of the plant-like substance hidden in his left sock.

    Police were called in and the suspect was escorted to the Central Police Station where he is expected to be charged.

    Commissioner of Prisons (Ag), Mr. Dane Clarke has commended the actions of the officers and urged them to continue to be alert and vigilant.
