Virologist on COVID-19 vaccine

    It is unlikely that persons will have to be vaccinated every year for the coronavirus.

    This is the belief of Virologist Dr Christine Carrington as T&T, like many other countries around the world, gets ready for the COVID-19 vaccine.

    Some have asked whether the jab will be needed once, or if it will have to be annual, as is the case with the flu shot.

    Dr Carrington reminds however that not much is still known about how long immunity against the virus will last.

    Even if it isn’t for life, she believes the more likely scenario will be a booster shot system.
