UWI St Augustine student, Omari Joseph, has won an international essay contest called “Ideas for the Future”.
The competition, hosted annually by the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) and regional Central Banks, seeks to promote youth views on development.
Joseph wrote on the needs of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Latin America and the Caribbean and will receive the “Guillermo Perry Prize,” and US$3,000.
2nd and 3rd place went to students from Colombia and Argentina respectively.
Joseph previously won the 2019 and 2020 national editions of the contest.
