UWI improves ranking in Latin America and the Caribbean

UWI has been ranked 32nd among the 150 best universities across Latin America and the Caribbean.

It also remains the number 1 ranked university in the Caribbean.

Both positions were reaffirmed in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) Latin America University Rankings, and UWI believes it reflects improved recognition of its research impact in multiple disciplines, the development of strategic alliances with Latin American universities, and the official recognition of its contribution to the region’s development agenda.

The showing also comes ahead of the 2020 World University Rankings due for publication at the end of September 2019.

The ranking is an improvement from last year, when UWI made its debut on the THE list at #37.

Vice-Chancellor Hilary Beckles believes the rise in ranking reflects the efficient and effective effort of the entire UWI family to be the best it can be.”
