The US Embassy in T&T has made a donation of high-tech equipment to the T&T Police Service to assist in its operations.
The two computer servers were handed over to Police Commissioner Gary Griffith earlier this week, and are expected to be given to the Service’s Organised Crime and Intelligence Unit.
The equipment will be used to improve the processing of information into intelligence, to strengthen the Unit’s ability to tackle drug trafficking, gang and gang-related activities in T&T.
Commissioner Griffith expressed his gratitude to the US Embassy, saying the equipment will further enhance the Police Service’s ability to employ intelligence-led policing technique, to eradicate the drug and gun trades locally.
The handover took place at the Organised Crime and Intelligence Unit’s offices at Agra Court in Port of Spain.
